YWCA of Cortland’s Bridges for Kids Program Receives $500 Donation from Pinckney Agency

Oct. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Allstate’s Shirley Eizember, owner of the Pinckney Insurance Agency, was recently named an Agent Hero by Allstate Insurance Company’s New York Region, and awarded a $500 grant for a local youth program.

Eizember donated the grant to the YWCA of Cortland to support the Bridges for Kids mentoring program, which matches adult volunteers with children ages 5-12 who live in stressful home environments. This provides these children with positive role models and opportunities to be involved in weekly enrichment activities, increasing the child’s self-esteem and self-confidence. Additionally, Bridges for Kids provides monthly activities to all enrolled families, including swimming, games, crafts and holiday celebrations. The grant will help fund a special field trip for the 125 children enrolled in the program.

“As an Allstate agent, I believe it is my responsibility to demonstrate the Good Hands Promise in the Cortland community every single day,” said Eizember, whose Pinckney Insurance Agency office is located at 41 Port Watson Street. “It is an honor to be able to donate this grant to the YWCA and hopefully touch the lives of the youth who are involved in Bridges for Kids.”
