CCC/CSC/OTC Employees Participate in Race for a Cure

Oct. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Employees from Community Care College (CCC), Clary Sage College (CSC) and Oklahoma Technical College (OTC) participated in the 14th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure, Sept. 25, 2010.

“I was proud to be team captain for CCC/CSC/OTC. To be involved in a global movement for a cure is powerful. Never before have I felt so moved to be surrounded by so many men and women that have stories of survival and are filled with hope! I will continue to participate in the Race for the Cure and I’m proud that my employer supports this amazing cause,” said Jessica Abuelaileh, default specialist for the colleges.

Nearly 30 employees at the colleges participated in the event under the name “Team Fort Knox”. Most walked in the Untimed 5K Run/Walk and a few participated in the Timed 5K Race and Untimed 1-Mile Walk/Run. The entry fees were sponsored by the college and team shirts were designed by Sara Harper.

This year’s donation goal for the Tulsa Race for a Cure was $812,000. Organizers were still counting the final results but are confident they met or surpassed that goal. About 12,000 people registered for this event that helps support research for breast cancer.
