PRLog - Oct. 1, 2010 - TEMECULA, Calif. -- Deo Volente Media presents the Christian Filmmaker Challenge. The Challenge runs 48 hours from Friday to Sunday October 15-17, 2010.
On the Friday beginning the challenge all teams will send at least one representative to a specified location for the 'Kick-Off' event. Each team will choose three elements at random (a Theme, a Genre, and a Wild Card) and then have roughly 48 hours to write, shoot , edit, and export a 3-7 minute film which includes those elements. Films that are turned in on-time that Sunday will be eligible for awards and prizes, but all films that are returned (on-time or late) will be screened at a local theater approximately one week from the close of the Challenge.
The three elements chosen at random by your team are as follows:
Themes:The 'Theme' is the main idea of a story; the idea about life revealed in the film. Examples of the types of themes that you might draw are:
Happiness -Joy - Greed - Suffering - Wealth
Genres: A 'Genre' is a category of style; a recognizable form that a story is told within and through. Common Genres within film are:
Action - Comedy - Drama - Science Fiction - Romance - Western - Musical
Wild Card: The 'Wild Card' is wild! It is an element that will need to be seen in your film and could be anything from a character to a color. Common Wild Card categories are a specific:
Character - Prop - Location - Line of Dialogue - Event
Each team can redraw a single element (theme, genre, or wild card) but will be stuck with that redrawn element, no matter what, and are not allowed to revert back to the initial element once they have redrawn.
