Sept. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Professional Systems Associates announced the addition of two new workflow documents to CMPRO that more fully support DoD users. The workflow-enabled Issue Report and Implementation Directive documents assist the Department of Defense users in managing the overall engineering change process.

The Issue Report fills an existing gap in the standard ECP-centric change process used by many DoD groups. Currently, when things are reported that may (or may not) become engineering changes, there is no standard way to capture and evaluate them. The Issue Report provides a workflow-enabled method for doing this.

The Implementation Directive also fills another gap in the ECP change process that exists after an ECP has been processed and approved. The approval of an ECP does not often also translate into authorization to implement that change. There are often budgetary, schedule, and resource issues that have to be considered before such authorization is granted by the appropriate level of management. The Implementation Directive provides a workflow-enabled method for managing the authorization to implement one or more ECPs. Senior Systems Analyst at PSA Moe Parker stated, "This is important to DoD users because they need a letter that directs someone to do the work on an ECP either through a contract, work order, or another process and the Implementation Directive is the method to route, approve, and publish this."

Adding these two workflow documents to CMPRO highlights the dedication PSA has to making sure that CMPRO fits their customers' business processes.
