Fundraising Fashion Show to Raise Awareness and Funds in honor of National Domestic Violence Month

On October 9th 2010, Silent Scream Productions is having a fashion show to raise awareness for 2 local organizations in honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 7 designers from all over US are participating as well as 7 local boutiques.

Sept. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- On October 9, 2010, Silent Scream Productions will hold “Zion’s Lights” Fashion Show where portions of the proceeds are to benefit the Witneys L.I.G.H.T.S. Foundation and The Daughter of Zion, LLC program. The event will occur on October 9, 2010 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the Schwartz Center for the Arts in Dover,De.  The “Zion’s Lights” fashion show will showcase various designers from all over the U.S., as well as fashions from Dover. There will be boutiques from Loockerman Street in Dover participating to showcase their inventory; such as Bel Boutique, Fly 365, The Wedding Boutique, Maxine’s New York Fashions, The Next Level, and Zohans. The designers supporting the cause are Lady T Productions from South Carolina, Juzd from Canada, WorldFed Apparel from Baltimore, DimePiece from Los Angeles, K2 Couture from New Jersey, and Le Onche’ and Gates Fashions from Washington, D.C.. Additionally, there will be approximately 50 models and volunteers participating, a partnership with WEEN (weenonline.org), a non-profit organization from New York with their Executive Director, Valiesha Butterfield co-hosting, alongside a popular renowned runway coach, Mr. Alva Page. The night will also feature a performance from KeKe Wyatt, as she will also co-host a few scenes. SSP received encouraging community support as well as contributions to hold the event from Access Dental in Dover, WorldFed Apparel, Steve Madden, and lastly from Dr. Ditty and Dr. Milligan both of Dover.

 Silent Scream Productions has also partnered with Verizon Wireless to collect no longer used wireless phones for their HopeLine program to support domestic violence victims. Collection will begin on October 2nd, 2010 at the Dover Mall in Dover during a scheduled press conference. The entire week will have drop box locations as well as on October 9th during the event. Liana Jenifer, Jermar Pritchett, and Victoria Roland are organizing the fashion show and fundraiser, are all residents of Dover and shared, “As a team, we wanted to put an event together for our community members to enjoy all while creating a fun lavish environment. We know there are many silent screams centered on issues such as domestic violence and we want to give a voice to those who are under-served and not often heard.”  Vendors will be on site as well food and beverages. HopeLine Program- Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine® program collects no-longer used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any wireless service provider and puts the nation’s most reliable wireless network to work in its communities by turning these unused wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence. Phones given to HopeLine will be refurbished for reuse or will be disposed of in an environmentally sound way under a zero landfill policy.  Thousands of the refurbished phones are distributed to domestic violence shelters to be used by victims and survivors as they create safety plans and rebuild their lives.  Additional proceeds from HopeLine provide financial support to non-profit domestic violence advocacy agencies across the country.

The Daughter of Zion, LLC is a Christian based ministry. Their mission is to provide a refuge, in a loving, Christian, residential home-like setting for girls seven to fourteen years old that need long-term care. It was designed to promote the spiritual, physical, educational, and emotional well-being of the girls.

Witney’s L.I.G.H.T.S (Leadership Institute for Guiding and Helping Tomorrow's Servant leaders) program is a youth education program committed to training and empowering youth leaders within troubled communities.
