Sept. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Cochise College, located in Douglas, Arizona, has selected CampusEAI Consortium's ePortfolio functionality for their myCampus portal system. The College is one of the first CampusEAI members to incorporate this feature, which is available to all institutions currently utilizing myCampus 6.4 and later versions.

Through the ePortfolio functionality, users are given tools to create a personal space online to compile documents and other digital files for private storage or public presentation to classmates, faculty and other institutional portal users, as well as prospective employers.

The myCampus ePortfolio functionality contains the following applications:
•   Web Content Management
•   RSS News Feeds
•   Blog Space
•   Document Library
•   Image Gallery
•   Tabbed page layout for easy navigation of easy-to-create portfolio pages.

Cochise College is part of the ePortfolio pilot program and will be the first institution to implement the feature as part of their portal system. In its pilot phase, the ePortfolio features will be offered to a limited user group at Cochise College, and then expanded to a larger set of users.

Before implementing ePortfolio functionality, Cochise College trainers will be instructed by CampusEAI Community Specialists on customizing and deploying ePortfolio templates. After this instructional session, trainers will have the knowledge to work around the institution to create multiple templates for different groups.

"Cochise College is excited about the opportunity to be part of the pilot group that will implement the myCampus ePortfolio services," said Carlos Cartagena, Vice President for Information Technology at Cochise College. "Our goal is to provide students with an integrated online venue by which they can build a centralized portfolio of academic accomplishments that can be used in support of upper-level university work, career exploration and employment seeking opportunities."

"We are happy to see ePortfolio become a part of Cochise College’s myCampus portal," said Anjli Jain, Executive Director of the CampusEAI Consortium. "Giving students the power to store and display their work, credentials and professional goals will make students more valuable in the market and open up incredible opportunities during and after their college careers."

Members seeking information on ePortfolio can contact their account manager to schedule an exploratory session with the CampusEAI Community Team. Non-members seeking further information can contact Hollie Rybak at hollie_rybak@campuseai.org or visit the CampusEAI website www.CampusEAI.org.
