Amarillo, Texas will be the location for the 2010 Beef Financial Management Conference on November 9th, 2010.

Sept. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Amarillo, Texas will be the location for the 2010 Beef Financial Management Conference on November 9th, 2010.
The conference will include in-depth financial information, including, how commodity prices, tax law changes and bank lending trends will affect beef producers’ financial management. Other topics will include, current banking and credit trends, keys to effective risk management, year-end tax planning strategies and legislative updates. The event is sponsored by Frazer Frost, LLP, Certified Public Accountants; Great Plains Ag Credit, and Commodity Risk Management.
Keynote speaker, Dr. Lowell Catlett, Professor of Agriculture at New Mexico State University will be speaking on the “21st Century Agricultural Revolution”. The event will also feature talks by Larry Doyle, Chief Executive Officer, Farm Credit Bank of Texas, and Josh Winegarner, Director of Government Relations with the Texas Cattle Feeders Association
The event will be held at the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo from 8:30a – 4p with a reception from 4 – 6p. Cost is $50 per person which includes lunch and event reception. Registration is available online at www.cpe-conference.com.  
About Keynote Speaker, Dr. Lowell Catlett:
Dr. Lowell Catlett is a Regent’s Professor/Dean and Chief Administrative Officer at New Mexico State University's College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. Dr. Catlett works on behalf of corporate and association audiences internationally, presenting his take on trends in healthcare, agriculture, the environment, education and more. His latest talk addresses the current state of the economy- and what's in store for businesses down the road. Dr. Catlett received his doctorate in Economics from Iowa State University, and has twice received the Don C. Roush Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Burlington Foundation Faculty Achievement Award for Outstanding University Teaching. In 1994 he was one of two Western Regional recipients of the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges "Excellence in College and University Teaching in the Food and Agricultural Sciences Award." He recently received the College of Agriculture and Home Economics Advisor of the Year as well as Teacher of the Year at New Mexico State University. He was one of six senior faculty members to be named New Mexico State's first Regents Professors. Dr. Catlett is a consultant to the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, the Interior, Defense and Labor. He has also been a consultant to many Fortune 500 companies.
