Sept. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- The newly formed Vermont Commission on Native American Affairs, (VCNAA), met for the first time this afternoon in Montpelier.

Luke Willard was appointed "Chair" in a unanimous decision by commission members.

Willard recently relinquished his duties as chief of the Abenaki Tribe at Nulhegan-Memphremagog. From their press release Willard stated “Common sense tells me that it would be difficult to wear both hats”, speaking of the time commitments and difficult tasks that the commission will be facing since the legislature established a criteria for Vermont tribes to gain state recognition.
