Generally whole foods do not contain any salt, fat or sugar or any additives such as preservatives and colourings. General examples of whole foods are fruit, vegtables, grains, seeds. beans, peas and nuts as well as unprocessed meat, fish and poultry.

Whole food supplements and products are a way of making sure your body receives the nutrients that most people miss out on. More and more of us now realise the importance of taking whole foods in our diets compared to their processed counterparts. Generally, as a result of processing, the important minerals and vitamins are diluted or impaired. As resarch continues, it is getting more evident that the additives and colourings in our processed food is leading to damaged health. One of the main benefits of whole foods is the lack of artifical sugar which can be linked to todays over weight socicety.

A whole food is basically as it sounds – a food you eat whole, which is the way nature intended. When trying to loss weight, many people are trying to replace their junk food lifestyle with whole food products and produce. There are many links as to how whole foods can help improve your health as well as fight of chronic illnesses. When we walk around a supermarket today, how often do we look at the ingredients? Its time to take note and consider how much of our diet is consuming processed and alter foods which no one knows what the effect will be long term.
