Sept. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- For three days – on October 29, 30 and 31 – visitors are invited to enjoy the haunted past of one of the country’s grandest Victorian neighborhoods as spirits come back to life and share their eerie tales as told by local author David Dominé in his Ghosts of Old Louisville books.

The Victorian Ghost Walk, a roughly 90-minute jaunt, features stops at many local landmarks mentioned in Dominé’s books. Sites include Floral Terrace, Central Park, Fountain Court, Millionaires Row, Central Park Bed and Breakfast and the Conrad-Caldwell House on St. James Court. Along the way, while strolling charming gas-lit streets and alleys, costumed guides and interpreters share ghostly stories and legends from a bygone era, and participants are invited inside a haunted home or two. Dominé himself will lead several of the groups, and other guides will include talented members of the Old Louisville Neighborhood. This production of the Victorian Ghost Walk is directed by Ronald Lew Harris, a respected director and actor in New York City for 30 years and a resident of Old Louisville.

Tours form every 15 minutes at the Old Louisville Information Center 1340 South 4th Street in Central Park on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. The first group departs at 6:00 pm and the last one at 7:30 pm. Advance tickets are $20; day of the tour $25. For tickets and more information call 502-635-5244. Ticket proceeds will benefit the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council and the West St Catherine Neighborhood Association to support the mission of promoting and improving Old Louisville.

Old Louisville enjoys a reputation as one of the nation’s largest Victorian neighborhoods, and it is rumored to be its most haunted as well. With well over a thousand stately mansions and opulent residences from the late 1800s and early 1900s, it’s hardly surprising that many Old Louisville homes come with their own resident haint.
