Follow on Google News | Boyd Goes "Bing!" On New Album!Bing Crosby's grandson Phil Crosby Jr. is coming to New York in October to record one of his grandfathers classics with the Hudson Valley's own Brett Boyd, to be released on his forthcoming album!
By: SkyLite Entertainment Group On October 16th, Phil Crosby Jr. is flying from Los Angeles to New York, for the purpose of recording a few of his grandfathers hit songs, as duets with another grandchild of the golden era, singer Brett Boyd. His grandfather, Chapin Boyd, was a big band era trombone player who played with the likes of Tommy Dorsey, Ted Lewis and Sammy Kaye. Boyd's other grandfather Howard Conklin Sr., was a contemporary of Frank Sinatra, and often sang as Sinatra's opening act in the early days with the Dorsey Orchestra at the Paramount Theater. Last October, after performing with the legendary Les Paul, Boyd learned that both his grandfathers were known and respected by both Paul and Crosby. This is what prompted the connection between Brett and Crosby Jr., and now a recording session is to follow. Thanks to the Hudson Valley's Phil Bulla of Platinum Productions, Brett Boyd and Phil Crosby Jr. will be recording a few duets of songs made famous by Phil's grandfather Bing Crosby, one of which is speculated to be the timeless "White Christmas". Boyd & Crosby will be performing together as well, for the short time they will be together: Sunday, October 17th at 10am they will perform at Shore Christian Center in Wall, NJ (www.shorechristian.org) For more information or interview requests, please contact Dean Chapin @ (845) 421-5888 End
