Many guys have known that there are two main different types of chips for PS3 break in the market. Amtel ( AVR AT90USB162 ) and PIC18F , also there are other chip , PS3KEY , actually it’s largely identical but with minor differences.
Both of them are able to flash the system and break the PS3, but the way to login the update model are different. Some of them contains a upgrade button and others update automatically when you plug it to PC. The second need to set the Boot loader or put a scheduled application in advance.

PS3 break V1.1: this is the latest product, I am sure it is upgradeable if you buy from formal dealer. Notice : according to my info , this product has come out only for three days . it is in short stock,most of shops don’t have enough or no in stock, so be careful ! .

USB break: until now, there is no evidence proves it is upgradeable, so I don’t recommend!

P3Hub: in my opinion . this is a great PS3 break , actually ,it’s a best choose if you can afford to buy, It not only has both AVR and PIC chip options , but also both add the hardware update , so whatever chip you choose , you can flash the firmware by yourself.
