Rotary Club Germy Wormy's an entire town!

When the H1N1 swine flu came to Burnet Texas last year, Brandon Arrington and the Rotary Club of Burnet went into action. Recognizing that the best way to stop H1N1 is to prevent its spread, Arrington found a solution: Germy Wormy® to the Rescue!

Nov. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Last year when the H1N1 Swine Flu virus hit Burnet, Texas, Brandon Arrington of the Burnet Rotary Club wanted to help his local community protect their children from the risk of getting H1N1.

Arrington found out that the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended that to reduce the spread of H1N1 and other contagious diseases, children and adults should cough and sneeze into their elbow rather the hand.

When Arrington saw the innovative new Germy Wormy® Disposable Sleeve on the national health television show, “Doctors,” he knew what to do.

Arrington presented the challenge to the Rotary Club of Burnet and they decided to raise money so that, in cooperation with the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District, they could buy and distribute Germy Wormy to every daycare – 1st grade student in Burnet, Texas.

“The Burnet Rotary Club has always prided itself on taking on projects that make a real impact in our local community. Preventing illness of our kids is something for which we are immensely proud,” said Arrington.

The program went so well that the Burnet Rotary has approved purchasing Germy Wormy sleeves for their children this year as well. “The teachers were thrilled when we told them they would have Germy Wormy in the classroom again this year,” said Arrington.

“As a parent of a 3 and 7 year old I too have “adopted” my children’s schools and donated the Germ Smarts for Kids educational program and Germy Wormy sleeves since school budgets are so tight in this recession. I am thrilled to work with Brandon, the Rotary Club, Burnet Schools and all schools in the battle to reduce the spread of contagious illness amongst children.” said Germ Smarts for Kids with Germy Wormy® founder, Margaret Back.

Germy Wormy’s favorite food is germs – may he please have all your germs?
