Sept. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Studies show you could lose pounds by just drinking water. Now I know this isn’t a revelation. Most weight lose experts have been touting this for years. We’ve said drink a glass before each meal. This has been a popular weight loss secret. Now second study confirms this. The new study publicized in Discovery News dated Aug 23 2010 “Drinking Water Proven to Help Weight Loss” has found that dieters that drink two cup of water before each meal lost weight.
Did you know most people can actual survive for weeks even months with no food, but without life giving water possible a week even 10-15 days. Water is essential to our lives. There are three ways our body losses water either through sweat, urine and we expel it in our breath.
If you’re not drinking enough you can very easily become dehydrated. There are a number of symptoms of dehydration. Just to mention a few are headache, stomach ache, fatigue, dry mouth, how about water retention (funny but true) and the list goes on. This is what I recommend and the strategy that I use. Drink two glasses of water before every meal. Did you notice I said water, not soda or fruit juice! Water, preferably filtered water! Pure water! There seems to be some discussion over whether the weight loss occurs due to the person not eating as much as they would normally, weather the weight loss occurs because the body is working harder to maintain the core temperature, weather the amount of water drank is reducing the amount of sodas and juices that are being drank or could it be because of the quantity of water drank your bowls are working at expelling waste faster. Personally I think believe it’s a combination of all of these things. Regardless of how it works, it works.
Water needs to be the number one beverage that you drink. I’m a simple person therefore I need simple things, so when telling people how much water they need to drink I use the 8x8 rule. That is 8oz of water 8 times a day. That’s to start. More activities more water. I myself live in a drier climate. When I ‘m not working at this I might be cutting and splitting firewood for the winter ( I like to split it all by hand, it’s a great workout), working in our garden, taking a 5 mile hike with the dog into the woods and up the mountains, so I drink substantially more water. The way I determine for myself is I try to keep my urine either clear or light yellow if it dark yellow then it’s obvious to me I’m not drinking enough water. Sound gross but I really enjoy my health. Along with the water I also have 2 cups of chai tea and a glass of juice. If your body is made up of 75% water what better thing to feed it.
The next question that needs to be addressed is what type of water do I drink, bottled, filtered, tap, cold or warm and how about PH balanced. I do not recommend bottled water in most cases it’s nothing more than tap water in a bottle being brought to you in a very expensive rapper. Tap water this depends on how much you trust your local, state and federal government to monitor the water quality. I have read some horrifying things about city water supplies. Well water in some cases this is no better than city water. I’ve had ours tested several times and the only thing they’ve found in it is iron so for me I’m good. We do use a filtering system on ours. I didn’t say water softener they add an enormous amount of sodium to you water. The only thing I would recommend is slightly alkalized water for optimum health. I recommend IsaWater it’s easy to use and you can take it with you. Alkalized water helps you maximize hydration at the cellular level. It also helps the body to cleanse away harmful toxins, neutralizes harmful free radicals often found in drinking water and makes the water taste fresher. The better it tastes the more likely you are to drink it.
