$75,000 Big Shot Volleyball Series comes to Horry County

Big Shot Volleyball in Myrtle Beach: The top beach volleyball players in the Southeast will compete Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2-3 in the center of Myrtle Beach at the old Pavilion site when the Big Shot Volleyball Series comes to Horry County.
 
Sept. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- The top beach volleyball players in the Southeast will compete Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2-3 in the center of Myrtle Beach at the old Pavilion site when the Big Shot Volleyball Series comes to Horry County. Players will compete for a share of the $75,000 cash prizes to be awarded during the 2010 season including the $1,500 awarded to the top male players on the East Coast, compliments of Rider Sandals and Native Eyewear.
This tournament regularly draws players from the AVP Pro beach Volleyball Tour. AVP Pro Beach Volleyball players Matt Heath, who lives and practices year-round in Myrtle Beach, will play in the Horry County tournament. Matt Heath has finished as high as 9th on the Association of Volleyball Professionals Tour.
Top players expected to compete include Jake Elliott, who has played on the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour since 2000 and his new partner, John Guida, both from Mt. Pleasant, SC
Players of all skill levels will be eligible for play in the doubles tournament. Intermediate and novice level players will compete for merchandise prizes including 4C Totally light 2Go, Rider Sandals, Native Eyewear, Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau, Rox Volleyball, 1st Place Volleyball, Wilson Sports, Venus Swimwear, Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority, Bally’s Casino, Vincere Sand Socks, Sweet Tomatoes, Park & Sun net systems, Dig Magazine, Sportime, AVPNext, and Sixpak.com Volleygear
Saturday will be the feature day of the tournaments as the Men’s Open division takes center stage. Finals are scheduled for 6 pm Saturday. Tournament play will start at 9 am on Saturday and 10 am on Sunday. Player check in is one hour prior to start time. Men's and Women's Open, AA, A, and B Divisions will play on Saturday. Coed Open, A, and B, Men's AA will play on Sunday. Admission is free for all spectators who are encouraged to come early for a front row seat.
