By: Lowell General Hospital Lowell, Mass. – A new Massachusetts law goes into effect on September 30th which bans teens from texting or calling and adults from texting while driving. Additionally, senior drivers will be scrutinized more thoroughly during the renewal process, according to the new state rules. Lowell General Hospital is offering driving safety and information courses to help drivers understand and follow the new laws. “Dare to Prepare: What Teens Need to Know Before They Take the Wheel!” Thursday, December 9, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost: $10 per family Lowell General Hospital, Wallace Board Room, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA “Dare to Prepare” is a 90-minute presentation for parents and teens that provides critical information teens need to know before they take the wheel. Offered in partnership with AAA, the class walks attendees through the steps necessary to obtain a permit and a driver’s license. Parents will learn helpful tools to guide their teen through the learn-to-drive process.
