The ceremony will take place at the community, located at 300 E. Overlook in Port Washington, on Tuesday, October 5, at 1:30 p.m. Residents of The Amsterdam will join with civic and community leaders; representatives of The Amsterdam’s not-for-profit sponsor, Amsterdam House Continuing Care Retiement Community, Inc.; and other development partners to commemorate the milestone.
“We’re very excited that our residents are able to call the community home and experience the extraordinary lifestyle we have to offer,” said Margaret Minichini, executive director at The Amsterdam at Harborside. “We’re privileged to serve our valued residents, and to provide them with the exceptional level of hospitality and service promised.”
The Amsterdam, which officially started welcoming its first residents on Monday, August 30, consists of 229 independent living apartment and penthouse homes. “We’ve been fortunate to have such strong support from local seniors; we were 90 percent reserved throughout our construction process,” said Minichini. “I believe one important element of our success is life care, because it allows you to enjoy your active lifestyle now, but still have peace of mind knowing you have a plan in place for the future, if you ever need care. We look forward to being the community of choice for Nassau County seniors and positively contributing to the local economy and area as a whole.”
