Soothing Your Soul & Pleasing the Senses

Oct. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- After much encouragement, I am finally posting my personal journals, so to speak, with the brand purpose behind the Kat Burki line always at the forefront, and all things inspirational, and my day-to-day adventures, sprinkled here and there along the way.

First, the brand’s mission and purpose… all things Kat Burki ~ it’s all about YOU!  Remembering you need to be nurtured and pampered from time to time (or a lot more often if possible!).  We are bombarded by assaults everyday.  Whether it’s a toxic environment, toxic people, or toxic topics, it’s just a fact of life.  To take the time and heal through beautiful surroundings, quality body pampering and heavenly scents is pure therapy.  The brand is also all about the love of style – high style and surroundings that soothe our souls and please our senses – there is nothing better.

Personally, why is this something important to me?  The most fundamental reason is to create happiness.  I am at my happiest, helping those near and dear to me feel happy, supporting charities that I wholeheartedly believe in, and touching people through design, superior products and kindness.  What makes you happy?  This is an important exercise, many of us, could probably identify what makes other people happy easier than what makes ourselves happy.  We all have to work on that!
A personal note about why superior ingredients and the highest level of materials are essential to the Kat Burki line:  When I was in eighth grade, I had my first experience of being chemically sensitive when I developed a severe reaction to chlorine in swimming pools.  Later, I began to react to newspaper print!   While in law school, I completely became intolerant to every chemical; antibiotics, bug spray, perfume (only cheap – I’m not kidding!), car fumes, carpet cleaner – man made fabrics. Everything.  My body was telling me that toxic chemicals were bombarding me and it was taking its toll, and I better pay attention.   Through this, I grew to know the importance of self, and that nurturing and listening to you has rejuvenating, inspiring and many positive life-changing benefits.

Being Chemically intolerant is really ok with me, since my taste level luckily is such that synthetics and artificial things have always been completely unappealing to me.  It has also blessed me with an astute nose and sensitive touch ability that has led to the high quality threshold that is the very backbone of the Kat Burki line.  Speaking of that, here’s the fun part, through Hello Gorgeous, I will take you on a ride with me as I source the best of the best, from fabrics to body crème ingredients, running a rapidly growing company, traveling, juggling three children, and finding my inner peace and sanctuary. Together, we will look to feed our souls through style, luscious body essentials, and the highest quality of materials that this beautiful world has to offer.  Settling for less is not necessary!
