Ford will announce more details at the Paris motor show at the end of the month, but it has said power will come from a turbocharged 2-litre engine.
The 2-litre Ecoboost engine features technology which offers the power of a larger engine, with the fuel economy of one much smaller.
Ford is remaining tight-lipped on the ST’s economy figures, but its 246bhp engine should provide a 0-62mph time of less than six seconds and a top speed of around 150mph.
There’s no official information on pricing – although it’s likely to be similar to the old model – or equipment specification, but Ford’s pictures reveal 19-inch alloy wheels, a fuel-saving start-stop system and ‘Tangerine Scream’ orange paintwork will be offered.
It will retain the trio of gauges on top of the dashboard, and the 2011 Focus is likely to be the first Ford in the UK to offer in-car Wi-Fi, effectively turning the car into a mobile hotspot.
The Focus ST will be announced alongside a raft of new models from Ford(http://www.autotrader.co.uk/
