Sept. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- There are a number of reasons that people come home to the Sacred Garden.  Yesterday,  I heard a Shaman (Malidoma Some)  say getting back in touch with nature is the only route for a radical refurbishment of our well-being.

So please, consider joining Renee Baribeau (The Shaman Chef) and Janell Percy (Local Farmer) for a morning in the garden. This will be a hands-on play shop. Bring your willingness, gardening gloves, hat, and water, for an experiential and moving meditation.

The Origins of this Play Shop

After a devastating loss in her life, Janelle froze. She lost her will and passion for her life and her garden, which in the past had fed her soul, family, community and life's purpose. As a healer I was powerless and perplexed. There was little comfort I could offer, so I began visiting her and helping her weed the few rows she was able to plant in her vegetable garden.  Sometimes we would just sit underneath the fruit tree, doing guided meditation and hands-on energy work. Other times we would just talk and cry as we pulled the nut grass from the beds. Over time another woman who had suffered a similar loss showed up in the garden and the two of them spent hours with the earth healing their pain. Yesterday, as we prepared the soil for a new crop, both of them could talk about their experience with new eyes, and had started to find some blessings in the tragic events of their lives.

Together we witnessed the healing magic of the garden.  It makes my heart sing that Janelle is now willing to offer our community the same healing experience. On Thursday, September 30th, at 10am,  we will be preparing the soil and planting seeds for the changes we want to make in our lives.  Beware the garden can become addicting and once you plant some seeds you may want to continue this sacred play. For me, I have learned that I got so much more than I gave, not to mention wonderful bounty of fresh leafy greens, onions, carrots, tomatoes, and the sweetest nectarines I have ever tasted.

The cost is $20. and includes healing, and gardening instruction.
