Decision Makers II: Western Washington Summit 2010

West Sound Technology Association (WSTA) and Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) are co-hosting “Decision Makers II: Western Washington Summit 2010 – Emerging Technology and Innovation of the Kitsap Peninsula” on October 22, 2010 from 11 AM to 1:30 PM at Kiana Lodge, Poulsbo. This event is intended for education, technology, government and business leaders interested in the economic vitality and jobs climate of the region.    

Rogers Weed, Director for the WA Department of Commerce and former Microsoft Executive will keynote the event.  Event honorary chair is U.S. Congressman Jay Inslee, sponsor of the new Apollo project and author of Apollo’s Fire. Confirmed speakers, presenters and panelists include State Senator Derek Kilmer; Dan Preston, CEO of Eagle Harbor Holdings LLC; Joe Van Dyke, President of Azima DLI. U.S. Senator Patty Murray is invited to speak.

Charles Keating, WSTA President states “Growth in technology businesses and adoption of greater efficiencies afforded by technology and alternative energies will help lead the economy out of the recession, create new jobs and help improve our national security.”

Topics of discussion will include the technology-based workforce, energy-efficiency, future economies, policy objectives, setting new priorities, and deeper public/private sector cooperation. Attendee participation in this process will be encouraged.
