Sept. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Goshen, NY – State, county, and local leaders joined the Elant community Friday, Sept. 17, in celebrating Elant’s 25th anniversary of offering health and housing solutions throughout the Hudson Valley.

The festivities, hosted at Elant at Goshen in the Garden of Arden, also included residents, residents’ families, Elant staff, and volunteers.

“Together we can all keep Elant thriving and growing so that for decades to come we can continue to help and heal those who are in need,” said Donna Cornell, the chair of the Elant, Inc. Board of Directors.

Elant, Inc. has consistently broken new ground with innovative programming and service development over the past quarter century. The network now includes seven campuses and serves an estimated 3,500 people daily across fives counties.

Today, Elant provides the full continuum of care for seniors. Its services include sub-acute care and rehabilitation services, nursing home care, assisted living, adult day care, retirement community living, home health care, and a managed long-term care plan.

In honor of Elant’s 25th anniversary, Elant was presented with six separate proclamations by various elected officials, including: New York State Assemblywomen Nancy Calhoun and Annie Rabbitt, New York State Senators William Larkin and John Bonacic, Orange County Executive Edward Diana, and Village of Goshen Mayor John Higgins.

“Elant’s staff not only provides a needed service, they also care about the residents here and that’s really something special,” said Senator Larkin, during the reception.

Guests of the festivities were honored with a choral performance by several Elant at Goshen’s residents, who sang their own version of “The Beat Goes On (A Celebration of 25 Years),” under the direction of Elant at Goshen Music Therapist Sue Conklin. Each member was garbed in a tie-dye T-shirt created by the granddaughter of Elant at Goshen resident Sarah Dodd, one of Elant’s first board members.

Guests also had the opportunity to explore the various items that will be placed in Elant’s next time capsule, scheduled for burial at the end of the month in the Elant at Goshen Courtyard.

To close the event, Elant, Inc. Acting President Todd Whitney offered a sparkling apple cider toast, proclaiming, “Just wait until you see what the next 25 years brings to us!”
