Alcohol and Drug Abuse - A Living Hell

The feeling of adrenaline rush in your body when you consume psycho active substances has no equivalent

Sept. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- The feeling of adrenaline rush in your body when you consume psycho active substances has no equivalent. This induces a person to consume ever increasing quantities in ever increasing frequency to experience this euphoric rush again and again. This leads to dependence and then onwards to addiction where the rush vanishes and the compulsion remains. This is the point when life turns into a living hell for these people.

Whether it is alcohol or drugs the fun part is now over. Now begins the pain and suffering. From being a social person he turns into an introvert, a loner living on the periphery of society, shunned and despised by all. Happy thoughts almost never come his way. Most of the time he lives in misery and self pity, suffering guilt pangs. He also feels resentment and anger and rage at the society which he blames for the condition he is in. This rage and frustration may also be directed towards his family members.

In his family every one knows about his condition. They have tried to get him to change but he cannot as he is a slave to addiction. He wonders why they cannot understand his position and be more understanding and tolerant. It feels as if they are constantly bugging him. Such friction leads to alienation from the core. This is where he loses the sense of belonging. To lose this feeling of belonging is like being cast out into a wide dark cold barren friendless void.

Friends gradually stop meeting him and talking with him. How do you communicate with a person who is out of this world most of the time? And when he is not freaked out he will be under the influence of drugs and not on his best behavior or warm or friendly.

By this time he has lost his job and is unlikely to be offered one or even being able to hold one.

On the physical side he suffers tremors and chills and it feels as if there are bugs crawling under his skin. He might have the sniffles from time to time. Damaged body organs means he has difficulty breathing, his heart beat is erratic and he is extremely lethargic, overcome with lassitude almost all the time. Mentally he hallucinates at times, at times he has a splitting headache and then at times he gets attacks of anxiety and panic. There are voices whispering to him. He turns paranoid. He only feels somewhat normal when he has taken a dose of his elixir. If he does not get his dose he can turn into a raving maniac or think of killing himself.

It is extremely hard finding good quality alcohol or drugs these days and they have become frightfully expensive! To get it he will do anything, even kill someone if it means he will get money for his next dose. Sometimes he thinks it is better to just lay down and die.

Life is such a veritable hell! He wishes he could end it all and become normal again.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRRNuEF2W9c
