Dress for Success to Hold Clothing Drive September 25

Sept. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Dress for Success Rhode Island will host a clothing drive this Saturday, September 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dress for Success boutique at 403 Charles Street in Providence. Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization that helps equip disadvantaged women with suits and self sufficiency.

Rhode Island residents Peggy Porter-Quinlan and daughter Melissa Quinlan-Finnigan are co-founders of Dress for Success Rhode Island, which officially launched in early 2010.
Porter-Quinlan is asking residents for their generous donations of winter suits and coordinates. They are especially in need of suits in sizes 16 and larger. New shoes, hosiery, purses, coats, hats and gloves are also welcome. All donations must be on hangers and in good condition. The Dress for Success boutique opened in Providence at 403 Charles Street this summer, where donations are taken.

Since 1997, Dress for Success has served more than 500,000 women around the world. Each year the organization reaches more than 45,000 women in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Mexico, Poland and the West Indies. All Dress for Success organizations are not-for-profit entities, with Dress for Success Worldwide and its U.S. affiliates having 501(c)(3) charitable status and those outside the U.S. operating as registered charities. Clothing donations and financial contributions made to Dress for Success affiliates within the U.S. are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
