Jujutsu is the primary Martial Art taught by Lone Tree Jujutsu. It is a complete and highly effective self-defence system - indeed it is the forerunner of Judo, Karate and Aikido. Instruction is available in both the Traditional forms, as well as in the sports form of the Art - Jujutsu Kumite. All aspects of Jujutsu are taught, from basic techniques through to advanced weapons training, by fully qualified, experienced and professional Instructors.

Swindon based club instructors explain how naturally, all of this is built upon a solid foundation comprising of the philosophy, ethics and discipline required when studying Jujutsu.

Jujutsu emphasises the use of skill over strength, and as such is ideally suited as a leisure activity for children. The discipline required will encourage your child to become a responsible individual whilst enhancing their self-confidence.

Our History

Swindon based school was established in 1994, Lone Tree Jujutsu initially operated as a satellite branch of another Martial Arts school. Encouraged by ever increasing students numbers, six years ago Lone Tree took the decision to become fully independent. This enabled Lone Tree President and Founder Dave Huntley, with the full support of his sons and fellow instructors (Nick and Richard), the freedom to take complete control of the running of the Lone Tree Jujutsu. Since becoming a stand-alone organisation, Lone Tree has grown considerably. With membership levels at an all time high, Lone Tree Jujutsu now operates under the management of Karen Huntley. The increasing demand for quality Jujutsu instruction has resulted in several new training sessions, and a new venue, being added to the Lone Tree schedule within the past year.

However it is important to re-state the emphasis that Lone Tree places on the quality of tuition provided - we are ever mindful of over-expansion. Simply put, we would rather have 100 members who receive the very best tuition we can provide than 1000 members all getting second rate instruction.

The Future

Looking to the future, Lone Tree Jujutsu aims to continue providing the Wiltshire region with quality training, whilst growing, adapting and evolving as membership needs dictate. An example of this in practice is the new 'Learn & Achieve' course for school children, which we have devised in response to growing concerns over the safety of our children, as expressed by several parents. This course has been successfully rolled out to several local primary schools, and has generated a very positive reponse.
