Free SAT & ACT practice tests for college bound students

Sept. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- College Nannies & Tutors of Cary, NC, will be offering free, proctored ACT and SAT practice tests for college bound high school students. This is an opportunity to experience actual test conditions and time limits. Students will gain comfort and familiarity with test taking. and will grade the test immediately after completion. This will help them identify areas that need improvement.

Dates: Saturday October 2nd and Saturday December 11th
Time:  8:30 a.m.
Place: Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Rd., Raleigh, NC

Students can choose to take either the SAT (session will end at 12:45) or the ACT (session will end at 12:15). There is no fee or obligation, but you must call to register and reserve your space.

SAT and ACT scores are the easiest piece of college admissions data to improve. Raising a GPA by 0.4 points may take many courses of straight A’s, but raising an SAT score by 100 or more points can be achieved in a number of weeks by a diligent student learning test taking strategies, studying weak areas, and doing practice questions.  SAT scores are also the basis for many merit-based college grants, which are crucial for middle class families who may not qualify for need-based funds. Practicing under actual test conditions can help you learn where you need to focus your test prep studies to maximize your chance of a higher score.
