Comprehensive Logistics Expands Capacity in Kansas City

Sept. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Comprehensive Logistics Inc. (CLI), a premier provider of highly efficient, engineered logistics services for complex supply chains, recently signed a two-year lease for 220,000 square feet of facility operating space in Kansas City, Kan.

The space is being used by the logistics provider to receive, store, pick, sort and repack parts from more than 130 global suppliers.

CLI ships the repacked parts to General Motors’ assembly plant in Fairfax, Kan., where they are then used to build the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse vehicle models.

CLI also sequences Malibu and LaCrosse door-pad components in Kansas City to support the automaker’s just-in-time production requirements.

“Delivering individual components in the precise order of the build sequence is critical to meet the demands of synchronous manufacturers like GM,” says Brad Constantini, executive vice president at CLI. “Short lead times, complicated product designs and global supply networks create countless logistics challenges for OEMs. Partnering with CLI eases the burden, allowing manufacturers to focus on their primary business.”

The existing space, featuring 14 dock doors, is easily expandable for future needs.
