Sept. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Hundreds of Great North Run entrants yesterday had a competetive edge over many other entrants.  What was it?  you may ask yourself.  It is a 12 week training program of jogging/running sessions which combine running music and personal training narration from top personal trainer Michael Warren.  There are 56 sessions throughout the 12 week program and each session begins with a five minute warm up and ends with a five minute warm down.  This helps prepare both the body and the mind for the working phase of each session and also helps decrease future injury and muscle strain.  The main working phases of the sessions are any where between 10 minutes and 120 minutes, and are a combination of 'Steady State', 'Interval', 'Tempo', 'Easy Jog', 'Race Pace', profiles.  The sessions are specially designed to increase your fitness at your own pace, and get you ready for race day.  

There are 6 different programs to choose from:

1.  5K 8 week program
2.  10K 8 week program
3.  Half Marathon 12 week program
4.  Steady State sessions
5.  Interval / Tempo Sessions
6. Treadmill Trainer Sessions

Jogpods also do a beginners program.  This includes 5 sessions of interval training:
Track 1.  Run 1 min / Walk 1 min.
Track 2.  Run 2 Mins / Walk 1 min.
Track 3.  Run 3 mins / Walk 1 min.

This beginners program sessions also begin and end with the 5 minute warm up and warm down phases, and are aimed at those who are unfit, those who have not exercised for several years, or months, and those who want to get fit.
