Sept. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- The Mom's Choice Awards® has named Pretty Brainy Smart Tees for Smart Girls the Gold Recipient in family friendly gear and accessories. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, Pretty Brainy designs products that help ’tween girls stay engaged in interests that would lead to their future careers.

The Mom’s Choice Awards® (MCA) is an awards program that recognizes authors, inventors, companies, parents and others for their efforts in creating top-quality family friendly media, products and services. Pretty Brainy’s Smart Tees received the organization’s Gold award for production quality, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal, cost, and design innovation. Inspired by ’tween girls, the winning tee shirt design combines math crib sheets, inspiring stories and embellishments to render a first-of-its-kind product, says company chief executive officer Heidi A. Olinger.

The girls’ printed tee design was created by Olinger, who founded Pretty Brainy in 2008. Abbie Kozik of Abbie Kozik Design, Denver (http://abbiekozikdesign.com), collaborated with Olinger in developing the design and creating the Pretty Brainy brand identity.

Parents, educators, librarians and retailers rely on MCA evaluations when selecting quality materials for children and families. The Mom’s Choice Awards® seal helps families and educators navigate the vast array of products and services and make informed decisions.

An esteemed panel of judges for the awards includes education, media and other experts, as well as parents, children, librarians, performing artists, producers, medical and business professionals, authors and scientists. Judging Process. MCA judges are bound by a strict code of ethics that ensures expert and objective analysis free from manufacturer association. The evaluation process uses a propriety methodology in which entries are scored on a number of elements that include production quality, design, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal and cost.

To be considered for an award, each entrant submits five identical samples of a product. Entries are matched to judges in the MCA database. Judges perform a thorough analysis and submit a detailed assessment. Results are compiled and submitted to the MCA Executive Committee for final approval. The end result is a list of the best in family friendly media, products and services that parents and educators can feel confident in using.
