Tovos Grill Ready to Open it’s Doors with over 60 Employees

Sept. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- With rumblings of a murky economic climate still in the midst, Tovos Grill is helping to clear the cloud for Lee County’s 13% unemployment rate. On September 20th, 2010, over 60 newly employed citizens will walk through the promising doors.

A & L Associates, a hospitality management consulting firm is heading up the project and completing last minute details. The owners and managers of Tovos Grill, located at  547 Pine Island Road have been meeting with their new employees to gear them up for the grand opening on Monday, September 20. “The idea that a new restaurant is opening up and employing over 60 people is remarkable and needed in our local community”, says Debbie Jordan, Democratic Candidate for Lee County Commissioner, District 2. “With so many folks out of work and on the unemployment lines, having a new opportunity is hopeful”, Jordan adds.

Tovos Grill is also helping to boost the economy by working with local purveyors for their produce and other supplies. Companies who utilize local and independently owned purveyors have a higher rate of sustainability, according to the experts at Sustainable Food.com. Experts also agree that buying local food keeps more money within local communities.

“Everything is homemade here, from the Pan Sabo Bread (a Peurto Rican Sweet Bread) to the handcrafted pizza dough for the Tovos Signature Pizza, explains General Manager, Phillip Gardner, to the 60 + newly employed servers, bartenders and kitchen staff at an orientation earlier this week. “Homemade also means boosting morale and boosting business because it keeps our local economy thriving and our employees excited to be part of something new,” Gardner states.
