Attorney J. Edward Allen Joins Civil Litigation firm Wilhite & Lea, P.C. in Houston Texas

Sept. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- In November 2009, Attorney Justin Edward Allen joined Wilhite & Lea, P.C., a Civil Litigation Law Firm as an associate attorney. Edward graduated with honors from South Texas College of Law in May 2009 and earned his Texas law license in November 2009.  Edward Allen is a versatile and dedicated attorney practicing family law, construction law, and probate matters in Houston and surrounding areas.

While attending South Texas College of Law, Edward was a member of the South Texas Law Review.  His law review article titled Insurance Carriers v. Construction Industry:  A Texas-Sized Showdown to Come? A Closer Look at the Implications of Lamar Homes, 50 S. Tex. L. Rev. 505 (2009), appears in Volume 50, Issue 3 of the South Texas Law Review. The article examines the controversy surrounding the interpretation of the terms “accident or occurrence” and “property damage” in the context of commercial general liability insurance policies and discusses the Insurance Code’s Prompt Payment Statute as it relates to failures to defend. The comment also discusses whether the Texas Supreme Court’s decision in Lamar Homes v. Mid-Continent Casualty Company marked a shift in the Texas Supreme Court’s seemingly pro-business alignment.
