Sept. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Meadville, PA – C&J Industries has announced plans to expand its Meadville, Pennsylvania manufacturing facilities. Construction of the $6 million expansion project is slated to begin next month and should be completed by late spring. The company has experienced significant growth over the past two years and anticipates the trend to continue.

“We’re growing; we need more space,” stated Dennis Frampton, president of C&J Industries, a pharmaceutical and medical contract manufacturing company. “We are adding nearly 30,000 square feet of space to our facilities.”

Plans for this area include a new state-of-the-art white molding room, larger warehouse space and an upgraded quality assurance lab. A new contract assembly room will accommodate both medical and non-medical assemblies. The project will take place in three phases.

“The new building addition will accommodate up to 18 presses and our immediate plan is to purchase nine new presses ranging from 55 tons to 390 tons of clamping pressure,” said Dave Lennox, vice president of operations. “These new electric presses will be equipped with robotic part removal systems.”

Over the past two years, the company has added about 50 new employees amid climbing sales. The 48-year-old business expects a 10 to 12 percent sales increase this year.
