Green Building Association of Central PA - Northeast Branch Steering Committee

Sept. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Join the Green Building Association of Central Pennsylvania's (GBACPA) - Northeast Branch Steering Committee at our Inaugural Reception on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Glenmaura National Golf Club, Moosic.

A panel of regional corporate leaders will discuss their experiences with green building initiatives and its value to the success of their business model.  The event is intended to join architects, engineers, builders, contractors, developers, financiers, facility managers, government officials, interior designers, landscape architects, realtors, urban planners, consultants, educators, and environmentalists for a presentation of corporate green building initiatives and to provide networking opportunities. The event will include a 30-45 minute presentation and will be followed by a reception with cocktails & hors d'oeuvres.

The GBACPA is an affiliate of the U.S. Green Building Council and was formed in 1997 by design and construction professionals who recognized the need to educate themselves and their colleagues about sustainability. The GBACPA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit member organization that is supported by corporations, organizations and  individual professionals from a variety of fields.

The Northeast Branch Steering Committee was formed to assist in the development and delivery of educational seminars that foster the implementation of green building and sustainable development practices. The committee will offer certification courses for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) and continuing education credits for LEED accredited professionals in the region.
