Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- United States & Costa Rica – Micah L. Guller has been around the block more than a few times in his 33 years, but he is now in Costa Rica where he finds himself working for less money and actually happy about it!

“When the market tanked back in 2007-2008, I got cleaned out. I had bought land just outside of L.A. near Palm Springs and was building an eco-house with a business partner. Then, bam! It was all gone. The bank collapsed, my construction loan cancelled, we lost both the land and the money we borrowed. I was in deep and had no idea what to do…”

In the summer of 2008, Micah was near his breaking point when he finished a small project and had a little bit of money in hand. He decided the best thing he could do was get out of town for a while, relax and perhaps gain a little perspective.

Somehow Costa Rica called out to him and he answered, booking a red-eye flight out of LAX to return in 19 days. Micah couldn’t help but feel that something good would happen… and indeed it did. No, he didn’t get married, he didn’t get rich. Instead, he realized that he needed very little to be happy, especially in Costa Rica where basic food, housing and medical care are far more affordable than in the U.S.

“Costa Rica fits me surprisingly well. Things are very different here, and there are certainly a lot of tradeoffs,” Micah says. I miss my family, my friends, the places I know, Sunday morning basketball at the park, and ALL of those kinds of things.”

“But I am also freer here at the same time and enjoying a new culture. Things move slower here. Money goes farther because it has to - there’s less of it to go around, and yet somehow life is richer. There is time for the simple pleasures. I am really starting to learn Spanish.”

Sometimes slower is actually faster, and less really is more… Especially in Costa Rica!

“My goal right now is to build a virtual consulting company that leverages technology and geographic arbitrage. I am a freelance web designer and taskmaster by current trade, but an artist and teacher at heart. Thankfully I’ve learned some new things that allow me to deliver my services in a way that allows me to be both artist and teacher, as well as a businessman.”

Micah recently started using open source software to help his clients affordably and effectively reach their online goals. It has allowed him to deliver higher quality services, in less time, and for less money. Most importantly, Micah has realized that he is in a unique position to be able to help start-ups and small businesses back home, because he can afford to offer services at rock bottom pricing.

Micah's goal is to pick up a total of 100 new clients by the end of 2010, an ambitious goal indeed, but he says, "I know I can do it." To get quick jump on his goal, he has a very special and limited time offer; he is building 37 custom WordPress websites for $137 each. For details and to take advantage of this special offer, visit him at his website: http://www.micahguller.com/137-dollars-custom-wordpress-w...

When it's all done, remember, "It's not magic, it's Micah!"
