"Design Your Own Chocolate Bar" Startup chocri Launches in the UK

On Monday, September 20th, chocri officially launches www.chocri.co.uk, the UK offshoot of the widely popular German website www.chocri.de. The website is already available. Chocri is the world’s first company that allows you to create your own bespoke premium chocolate bars online, with more than 10 billion possible combinations.

The concept is simple yet genius: First, choose your chocolate base (dark, milk, white or a combination), and then select “toppings“ to customise your chocolate bar. Toppings include both the traditional (like nuts and dried fruit) and the unexpected (chives or jalapenos) Upon checkout, you can even give your chocolate bar a personalised name to be printed on the packaging, which also makes it a unique gift idea.

Chocri’s move to the UK makes sense. Since 2008, chocri has grown rapidly and built a stable customer base in large parts of Europe and the United States. The United Kingdom offers a huge potential for chocri - it has the third highest per capita consumption of chocolate worldwide (10.3 kg). The country has a long chocolate history and an affinity not only for premium chocolate. The starting price for a personalised chocolate bar is £1.90 (with toppings ranging from £0.30 for Fleur de Sel to £1.80 for real gold flakes), and there‘s a 2 bar minimum per order.
