The Brotherhood/Sister Sol of Harlem Receives $500 Donation from Allstate Agent Hero Urquhart

Sept. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Allstate agency owner Peter Urquhart was recently named an Agent Hero by Allstate Insurance Company’s New York Region, and awarded a $500 grant for a local youth program.

Urquhart donated the grant to The Brotherhood/Sister Sol (TB/SS), a grassroots organization providing approximately 250 youths from communities in and around Harlem with the knowledge, resources, opportunity, and love necessary to understand and overcome the negative pressures of poverty, racism, drugs and violence, as well as the skills to combat them. TB/SS focuses on young people’s minds, bodies, and spirits, supporting their personal development and academic achievement, teaching them the skills and competencies needed for positive self-direction and achievement, and developing their ongoing commitment to their communities by helping them gain the knowledge, tools and resources needed to foster social change.

“As an Allstate agent, I believe it is my responsibility to demonstrate the Good Hands Promise in the community every single day,” said Urquhart, whose office is located at 265-20 Hillside Avenue in Floral Park. “It is an honor to be able to donate this grant to The Brotherhood/Sister Sol, and hopefully touch the lives of the youth who are involved.”
