Sculptra treatments are very similar to other anti-aging injectable procedures like Botox, Juvederm and Restylane. The procedure is minimally invasive and patients can return to work immediately following their appointment.
Sculptra is injected right below the surface of the skin using a very fine needle into the area of fat loss or wrinkling. Over time, the appearance of sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes is dramatically improved. Once the desired look is achieved, this semi-permanent treatment lasts up to two years, but could require minor touch-ups.
Advantages of Sculptra
Besides the long lasting properties of Sculptra there are other advantages for choosing Sculptra over its competition. Sculptra has a composition that is more natural due to its use of non-animal sources. Sculptra is made from poly L lactic acid and is compatible with the human skin and will be absorbed in the body without causing any adverse reactions. This is one reason why allergy tests are not required before Sculptra injection.
Another advantage of Sculptra is that the side-effects are very minimal. The majority of Sculptra side effects are the same as other injectable treatments: redness, swelling, tenderness and sometimes bruising. For the most part side effects are temporary in nature and will decrease in visibility in between 4 days and 2 weeks. An ice pack can be used to minimize swelling and redness after a Sculptra injection.
