New homes plan for historic Howden

Sept. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- AWARD-WINNING Stamford Homes is to continue is expansion into East Yorkshire with plans for new housing in Howden.

Work on the 54 two, three and four-bedroom homes is due to start this month  – with the first completions expected to be in Spring 2011.

Grimsby-based Stamford Homes has been granted planning consent for the development in the heart of Howden, which already boasts all the attractions of a busy and thriving town.

It marks the latest in a series of new developments planned for the East Yorkshire area – predominately close to York and Hull - as part of Stamford Homes’ long-term expansion project.

The 54 homes will be built within the shadows of the 18th century St Peter and St Paul Minster Church, one of the many local landmarks.

Howden offers a range of recreation and leisure facilities and opportunities including a weekly Friday market; a multi-functional Hall staging entertainment, theatre shows and workshops; bank; library’ medical centre and much more.

The development is also perfectly positioned a comfortable 17 miles from York, three miles from Goole and provides excellent transport links to the M62.

The announcement follows the recent unveiling of plans for a 130-home development at Beverley near Hull and a 58-home development in Riccall.
