Westcon Group Names Andrew Warren as Vice President, Westcon Security

Sept. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Tarrytown NY, September 13, 2010 - Westcon Group, Inc., the leading specialty distributor in data center, networking, convergence, security and mobility, today announced further expansion of its security business practice with the appointment of Andrew Warren as Vice President, Westcon Security.  Warren will report directly to Lynn Smurthwaite-Murphy -- Westcon’s Senior Vice President, U.S. and Canada -- and will be responsible for Westcon Security's U.S. activities, including driving its strategic vision and managing partner and customer relationships.

Warren brings over 15 years of executive level channel experience to his new role, specifically in security and distribution. Most recently, he worked at Avnet, where he was responsible for growing the distributor's domestic network security business. As a channel executive, he has held senior level positions in both sales and business development.

Westcon Security provides a single source for resellers to access their network security solutions. As network security deployments become more sophisticated and face increasingly rigorous compliance requirements, Westcon Security is able to provide the most advanced solutions, technical expertise and sales support to increase opportunities for resellers.
