Sept. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- In these increasingly health-conscious times, an increasing number of us are looking into the various forms of traditional Chinese medicine as a means of enhancing our sense of personal well-being. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of patients who not only turn to Chinese medicine as an addition or even alternative to traditional treatments, but who actually enrol in Chinese medicine courses to learn to become practitioners too.

The London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine run a number fully-accredited courses for those who have become fascinated by this centuries-old school of medicine. The LCTA is based in north London, just a short walk from West Finchley and Finchley Central Underground Stations, and is easily accessible from the M25 motorway.

The Chinese Medicine college offers a range of courses on various subjects, including acupuncture, Tui Na and Qi Gong. If you’ve ever dreamed about taking an acupuncture training course or learning more about Chinese medicine in general, now is the perfect time, because the LCTA have now launched weekend-only courses, meaning your education doesn’t have to interfere with your regular job or family commitments.

Carly Lewis, marketing manager at LCTA said, “Weekend courses are an idea solution for many from the busy mum who spends all week ferrying the children to and from school, the shops, days out and parties, to the dad with a full-time Monday to Friday job to worry about. With these new Saturday and Sunday sessions, Acupuncture training can be undertaken in a specialised college environment without having an impact on the rest of the week”

A part-time acupuncture course takes four years to complete, and involves approximately four days per month of studying. The full-time course understandably requires a little more commitment, but can be completed in just three years. You will be expected to study for six days per month. Both full and part-time course also have breaks for the traditional university holidays, such as summer and Christmas.

The acupuncture courses at LCTA represent a golden opportunity to study for that dream job you’ve always wanted. Instead of feeling that you could be doing something else with your time, a weekend acupuncture course is an opportunity to train for a vocation, one that helps others and relieves them of their pain.

The LCTA are running a series of presentation days in September for prospective weekend course students. The centre’s friendly, knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer all questions, and to demonstrate how easy it is to study for a recognised acupuncture qualification.

The weekend-only courses begin in October, so there’s still time to sign up. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be on your way to finding out all about the truly fascinating world of Oriental medicine. The commitment to the course is not too overpowering, and will allow you to continue to earn a living, and to enjoy time with your family and friends.
