Blog Created As Platform for Sharing Healing Stories

In the midst of our grief, we are sometimes given positive experiences that help us heal.

Sept. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Salem, VA-"I lost my father in May of 2007 to brain cancer.  I was there when he took his last breath.  It was an experience I will always remember," says Kathy Lamanca, creator of the blog Bittersweet Goodbyes.

She goes on to say, "It wasn't an easy road dealing with his cancer.  One day he was my father, and the next day he had a seizure and things were never the same again.  I know in his mind he could understand things, but at times it was difficult for him to express what he was thinking.   But his difficulty in expressing himself heightened my awareness and it became the source for many of the final gifts I would receive from him."

Lamanca feels that during this painful time in her life, she was also given positive moments that helped her heal.  These are experiences that she often turns to when she feels the sadness of losing her father.  She would share these experiences with friends or with others in general conversation and she quickly learned that others have their own healing, positive, spiritual stories to share.

"I chose to create a blog as a platform for grieving people to share their stories.  A platform where I wasn't limited to just hearing from people I come in direct contact with, but people from everywhere, all walks of life, all ages, and more.  I encourage everyone to visit my website and share their story or find a story that helps them heal."
