Country Cottage Hosts Fourth Annual Sock Hop, Expresses Thanks and Celebrates with Families

Sept. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- DECATUR – In honor of National Assisted Living Week, Country Cottage Residents and Staff will celebrate with friends and families on Thursday, September 16th.  The Cottage will enjoy their 4th Annual Family Sock Hop and will also provide take-home dinners to honor those who help us care for our Residents. The Sock Hop will consist of a cookout dinner, a twist contest, live music and more!  There will even be a display of vintage 1950s cars!

Country Cottage assisted living in Decatur expresses their appreciation to those who help them care for their Residents.  They will hand out take-home meals of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and homemade cookies to area social workers, nurses, doctors and caregivers.  Melinda Crawford, Information Director at the Cottage handed out meal coupons to those who have worked so hard to serve the Residents of Country Cottage to be redeemed for take home meals between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. on September 16th.

“I am looking forward to both events,” said Selena Jackson, LPN, Managing Director.  “There are so many individuals in the area who have helped our Residents so much; we are looking forward to giving something back!  Allowing them to take a break from cooking dinner for a night is the least we can do.  The Sock Hop will also be a lot of fun.  It means a lot to our Residents to have their families around for special events like this!”
