New England Wholesale Food Distributor AGAR Announces Fall Food Shows

Sept. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- New England Wholesale food distributor AGAR, product specialist for independent restaurants, retailers and other food service providers has announced their annual fall food shows taking place in September. AGAR will host two annual New England food shows to help customers with new products and menu times and to provide them with solutions to managing profits.

The two food shows are:

•   On September 14 AGAR will host their annual food show geared toward Foodservice & Retail Customers at Twin Rivers located at 100 Twin River Road, Lincoln, RI.
•   September 21 AGAR will host their food show for foodservice clients at the Crowne Plaza in Danvers located at 50 Ferncroft Road in Danvers, MA

When: Hours for both the Twin Rivers Show and the Danvers Show are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“We are still experiencing one of the worst economic downturns in our lifetime,” states Karen S. Bressler, president and CEO if AGAR. “Some in the foodservice industry have been hit the hardest. At our food shows, we try hard to not only show these operators new products but also how to manage their profits with certain products and menu items for a profitable and successful operation.”

Also on display at both food shows will be the private label brands exclusive to AGAR, Nautifish and Bullpen. Nautifish, a seafood brand that promotes sustainability through charitable donations and recyclable/reusable packaging recently embarked on a fundraising effort to help Concord-based Ocean Alliance fund a research expedition to the Gulf of Mexico. Bullpen, launched earlier in 2010 boasts many high-quality portion-controlled and marinated meats to help operators control costs and provide more variety in their establishments.

Food Show Background:
Over 100 vendors in the AGAR network will have a presence at both Food Shows. Vendors will be featuring products including Beef, Seafood, Pork, Lamb, Poultry as well as Non-Foods, Dry & Frozen Grocery items. The food show is open to any AGAR customer as well as anyone looking to AGAR for future food distribution needs.
Mostly independent restaurant operators and foodservice operators are registered to attend AGAR’s food shows. Many will be looking to AGAR to help them provide profitable solutions and other ideas to help them through these challenging times.
