Sept. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- COCONUT GROVE, FL (September, 2010) – For more than a year now, Pure Imagination Art Series has featured at least one local artist every month with an intimate reception and exhibit inside The Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove.  The complimentary wine pours and thoughtful hors d’oeuvres highlight the best the hotel has to offer, while works from several well-known local artists such as Ed King, Hector Maldonado, Deborah Weed and Summer Salon by Debra Cortese have graced the hotel’s lobby and poolside patio.  For 2010, the program has taken a new direction, adding sound to the schedule: in July, WaveSpun by Paulapart introduced a fascinating sound installation and in August, Center for Emerging Art’s Chamber Ensemble introduced the audience to Chamber Music, a form of classical music, performed in the hotel's intimate atmosphere of salon-style setting.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2010 Pure Imagination ventures into yet another artistic genre with Spoken Word.  Rhythmic Rapture and the HEALhome Program, in conjunction with Pure Imagination, will present DaRhydam Poetry Jam.  Guests can expect a warm reception of wine and cheese with a Silent Auction to help raise funds for HEALhome, followed by a moving and soulful Poetry Jam – an evening of spoken word performed by several local poets and musicians.   The event starts at 6pm and ends at 8pm; a sliding scale suggested donation of $5 to $15 is requested from the audience to support Rhythmic Rapture and HEALhome.  Valet parking will be available at $6.00 per car.

HEALhome, formerly known as H.E.A.L.: A Place to Call Home, is a multifaceted art-intervention and community outreach program that explores the concept of home.  The overarching goal of the program is to give a creative voice to the displaced and homeless population and facilitate community dialogue, understanding and resolutions.  It aims to facilitate personal - and thus community - transformation and reconnection to a sense of belonging regardless of socioeconomic status while transcending cultural boundaries.  “We all have a place to call home – our bodies, mother earth and, if we live in a just society, some form of shelter; however, sometimes circumstances cause us to lose touch.  HEALhome aims to facilitate reconnection to that sense of belonging”, states Charmille Walters, Artistic Director of Rhythmic Rapture, the organization that initiated and manages the program.  For more information on Rhythmic Rapture and HEALhome, visit their Facebook page “Rhythmic Rapture.”
