Follow on Google News | New Eyes for the Needy announces Saturday, September 18 as Opening Day for Fabulous FindsFirst Ever Saturday Opening Day for the Nonprofit
“We’re very excited to be holding our opening day on a Saturday for the first time in our history,” said Jean Gajano, Community Relations Coordinator for New Eyes for the Needy. “We hope that our regular customers as well as new shoppers will find it a more convenient time for their schedules.” The summer was kind to New Eyes as donations to the nonprofit were abundant and of exceptional quality. “Serious shoppers and bargain hunters will be very pleased with the excellent values in jewelry, silver, crystal, and giftware,” remarked Ms. Gajano. “Our inventory has swelled with so many beautiful items, including unique silver and one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. It will certainly be a worthwhile trip for any shopper who visits.” New Eyes’ volunteers have spent the summer diligently organizing and pricing the newly donated items in time for the opening sale. Indeed, the jewelry cases boast a range of items from $2 costume rings and $6 beaded necklaces to $180 14-carat gold bracelets as well as designer jewelry at a fraction of its retail cost. “Sterling silver rings, bracelets and necklaces are priced to sell and offer outstanding value to any lucky shopper”, added Ms. Gajano. “And we’ve received some lovely china pieces and silver trays. We’ve been so very fortunate to receive these quality items from generous donors over the last few months.” New Eyes for the Needy, a nonprofit organization in Short Hills, solicits and receives donations of used eyeglasses, jewelry and miscellaneous housewares from all over the country. The eyeglasses are sorted and distributed to the poor in developing countries while the jewelry and housewares are cleaned, repaired if needed, and then sold in the Fabulous Finds resale shop. All proceeds go directly towards the new prescription eyeglass program in which New Eyes for the Needy provides new glasses to poor individuals who live the United States. New Eyes is currently handling a four to six-week waiting list of individuals in need of glasses. Fabulous Finds accepts cash, check or Visa.
