The 2010 Toyota Prius is available in four trims: the Prius II, III, IV and V, all of which average about 51 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the highway. Every trim features an 18-liter, four-cylinder engine, which has improved highway fuel economy compared to previous models.
There are three driving modes for the Prius. EV-Drive Mode allows for driving solely on battery power at low speeds for about a mile, Power Mode offers a sportier feel and Eco mode achieves the best possible mileage.
The Toyota Prius also has many other energy-saving features. These include LED low beams and taillights as well as a solar-powered air circulator that prevents the interior air temperature from rising while the vehicle is parked. In fact, the newest Prius has made an industry first by making the air conditioning system capable of running with the engine off.
Other improvements include reduced road noise, improved acceleration -- zero to 60mph in 9.8 seconds -- disc brakes on all four wheels, and a larger interior space.
Standard on all trims are color-keyed foldable, heated outside mirrors, rear window electric defogger with timer, UV reduction glass windshield, aerodynamic rear deck spoiler, and roof-mounted XM satellite radio antenna.

Among its many safety features are traction control, a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS), enhanced vehicle stability control, side-impact door beams, front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones, and driver and front passenger advanced airbags with an occupant classification sensor.
