Sept. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- The online takeaway ordering website www.hungryhouse.co.uk has handed its PR brief to consumer tech specialists 10 Yetis PR Agency.

hungryhouse.co.uk was featured on BBC’s ‘Dragons’ Den’, and shook hands on a deal worth £100,000 with recruitment tycoon James Caan and health club magnate Duncan Bannatyne following a successful pitch demonstrating the benefits of ordering takeaway food via the internet, as opposed to via traditional methods.

Part one of the winning pitch can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzcQtXA5Gc8 and part two can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&v=MhKxPn_g_40

Since appearing on the show, hungryhouse.co.uk has grown to offer more than 2,400 restaurants to the hungry British public. The site facilitates more than £200,000 worth of takeaway orders every week, and allows users to utilise more than 125,000 customer ratings to choose the perfect takeaway restaurant for them, delivering in their area.

10 Yetis PR Agency will be focusing primarily on developing brand awareness for the site through both traditional and online channels, as per the campaign brief.

The agency will also develop and advise on strategies to increase engagement through the already prominent social media following of hungryhouse.co.uk, focusing on the brand’s strong customer service offering.

Rich Leigh, Accounts Director at 10 Yetis PR Agency had the following to say,

“hungryhouse.co.uk is well known for its very strong customer service, and is already a widely used. There is a huge opportunity in the market for a takeaway service that can both provide something innovative and people focused, whilst remaining fun.

“The aim for us is to continue to change consumer habits – a brief not entirely unfamiliar to us, having taken sites such as MyVoucherCodes.co.uk from launch in 2006 to the market leading position they find themselves in now. Our consumer tech team are experienced and well equipped to deliver results, and we’re all extremely excited to have the opportunity to work alongside a brand as passionate about user experience as hungryhouse.co.uk.”

Graeme Horne, Marketing Manager of hungryhouse.co.uk had the following to say,

“Having not employed a formal public relations effort before, it’s fair to say that we’re very excited about the opportunity to increase both the number of hungry Brits ordering their takeaway food from our site, and the number of restaurants that we partner with.

“Our growth to this point has been fantastic. In beginning a concerted PR campaign with 10 Yetis our aim is to further spread the word about hungryhouse.co.uk, and to build our market share.”

hungryhouse.co.uk is the UK’s takeaway delivery marketplace. The website allows buyers of takeaway food to read customer reviews about each restaurant before ordering a delivery online. Launched in 2006 by Australian entrepreneurs Shane Lake and Tony Charles, the service began life in London and has grown to feature 2,500 independent menus nationwide.

The website shot into the spotlight in 2007, when it attracted an offer of investment from Duncan Bannatyne and James Caan, in the Dragons’ Den.

It has since been recognised by Yahoo! as one of 2007’s most innovative websites, and in December 2009 received BT’s coveted ‘Essence of the Entrepreneur’ award.
