PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 9, 2010 - Governemnt of the Punjab Pakistan and UK’s department of International Development (DFID) have planned to launch a collaborative development programme, Punjab Economic Opportunities Programme (PEOP), initially for the economically marginalized districts Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Muzaffargarh and Lodhran. The Punjab Economic Opportunities Programme (PEOP) will focus on the provision of marketable skills and interventions related to the livestock and dairy sector of the target areas. One of the two main components of the programme aims to add value to the human resource generating activities for the people, particularly the poor and vulnerable groups. To implement the skills development initiatives a not-for-profit company called the Punjab Skills Development Fund shall be constituted.
