With the tagline “Green Technologies for Electronics Manufacturing”
identified for further growth and will be a focus at GlobalTRONICS.
Green technologies focus on the recognition of the business profitability and social responsibility rather than following popular trends. Companies have taken huge strides toward a greener future by changing their designs to streamline processes and increase the reusability and recycling rate of the end products.
“Since the introduction of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive in 2006 and 2007 respectively, the electronics manufacturing industry has become more educated and proactive in the adoption of green technologies. We hope to propel further growth in this area by putting more focus on green technologies, products and services at GlobalTRONICS this year,” commented Ms Michelle Lim, Managing Director of the organiser Reed Exhibitions.
Utilizing green processes and materials, printed electronics has attracted greater investments and support from organizations and governments promoting greener electronics. Printed electronics can be utilized in areas that conventional products could not previously access and there is substantial cost savings incurred from using low cost materials in printed electronics. The market for printed electronics is expected to grow rapidly in the future and is expected to exceed $300 billion in the next 20 years from the current $1.18 billion.
In line with this exciting new development, Singapore’s Inaugural Printed Electronics Conference with the theme of “Emerging Opportunities in Printed Electronics – Product Design and Manufacturing”
Topics such as Equipment for Large Area Flexible Electronics and OPV, Large Area Processing of Printed Electronics and Functional Films, Nanoparticulate Barrier Films for Flexible Solar and Display Applications, Reproduction of Micro Dimensions in Roto Gravure, Roadmap for Organic and Printed Electronics and Roll-to-roll Precision Nano and Micro Structure Embossing Technology will be discussed on the first day of GlobalTRONICS.
Companies such as aNexus Pte Ltd, Bayer (South East Asia) Pte Ltd, Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH, GRT GmbH & Co. KG, Hisaka (Singapore) Pte Ltd, IGT Testing Systems Pte Ltd, OE-A, SIMTech and Zephyr Silkscreen Co. (Pte) Ltd will be presenting printed electronics technologies, products and services at the Printed Electronics Showcase held alongside the conference.
The confidence in the Southeast Asian electronics manufacturing industry is exemplified with 52% new exhibiting companies joining GlobalTRONICS for the first time.
