Sept. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- The spotlight will shine on women in social media during the second annual all women’s social media summit on October 30, 2010.  The day long event will be held at the Durham Arts Council in Durham, North Carolina.  It is sponsored by BAMMedia.

A six-member panel will share their experiences on sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and also field questions from the audience. All of the ladies participating in the Summit are actively involved in social media according to BAMMedia spokesperson, Beverly Mahone.

The panelists will include some familiar faces from last year, says Mahone, but the majority on the panel will be new.  The returning panelists are Marketing Strategist Olalah Njenga of Raleigh, NC and Social Branding/Marketing Consultant Heather O’Sullivan of Apex, N.C.

New panelists are:  Virtual Assistant Angel Lebak, Personal Growth Facilitator, Leslie Flowers, Internet Copywriter Livvie Matthews and Francina Harrison, known widely as "The Career Engineer."

Some of the questions to be answered will include:

•    Can you have too many friends on any one social networking site?
•   What’s the best way to market my business with little or no money?
•   How do I get the most out of Twitter and Facebook?
•   How do I target specific demographics with social media

Mahone says events like this are important because it not only educates women on the latest trends in social media but gives them the opportunity to connect in an offline environment.  "There's nothing more exciting than meeting someone you've been chatting with online but never met before.  That happened last year with a number of attendees."

The panel discussion will be moderated by Business Networking Expert Pat Howlett.  He will also be a part of a special men’s panel, who will discuss what they like and don’t like about the way women network.

Tickets are on sale now through Eventbrite (http://www.womenssocialmediasummit2010.eventbrite.com) and seating is limited.
